The pie graph shows the three different types of fast food consumed by Mauritian teenagers between 1985 and 2015.
Overall, the taste for hamburgers among teenagers increased significantly over the years. Fried chicken also followed a similar trend but then became stagnant, whilst the pizza became less likely to be eaten by the young people.
Hamburgers were served only 10 times to a kid in 1985, which rose drastically and became the most popular fast food among the teenagers, who ate at least 70 hamburgers a year. Fried chicken starting at less than 10 servings a year, had a trend similar to hamburgers up until the year 2005, during which a single kid ate around 60 fried chickens a year. The value stayed the same for the next ten years.
On contrary, pizza was the most famous fast food among the adolescents in the year 1985, but the consumption decreased over the time. On those early days, it was served around 60 times a year after which the values are reduced to 10 times in the year 2015.
