Nowadays, due to rising inflation in many countries, men and women are working full time jobs to keep their household running. However, it also pressurises the females to work even harder since they have to manage not only their workspace but their homes and families too. Therefore, I agree with the statement that men and women should share household chores to maintain equality and balance.
Many females work for their passion, career, independency, or to earn the bare minimum to survive and keep their family going. In order to motivate them, males need to be supportive, kind and value their hardwork by sharing daily routine works such as grocery shopping or cleaning and managing toiletries, leading to harmony within a family. Moreover, it provides rest to both the individuals by distributing the chores and eventually increasing mutual respect.
Secondly, after marriage, in Asian communities its a culture that females do not work and are left to do all cleaning, cooking and child rearing. Despite that, if the wife works, husbands still don’t help in any of these duties leading to fights, violence and divorce. For example, when a girl is of an age to get married in Pakistan, mothers tell them to not pursue career or do jobs since she won’t be getting help from the in-laws or husband in the future. Consequently, leading many educated girls unemployed and dependent.
In conclusion, females should not be stigmatised of doing household chores. People sharing the same home should start respecting and help in distributing the work load, to make it less stressful for one person.
