The chart below shows information about the level of participation in five different leisure activities of Australian boys and girls from 5 to 14 years old. The participation of children in each activity is measured in percentage.
Overall, it is obvious that Australian boys do more activities in their leisure time than the girls,except art and craft. Most Australian children in the age group from 5 to 14 years old preferred watching TV, both boys and girls inclusive, while skateboarding is their least preferred activity.
Australian boys enjoy electronic/computer games in their leisure time which is 80 percent, as opposed to the girls where only 60% prefer it. Outdoor activities such as bike riding which 70% boys participate in, while just about 60% of girls take part in it during their leisure time. More than half girls prefer art and craft in their leisure time than boys, just 40% boys participate in arts and craft.
Watching TV or videos is the most popular activity for both boys and girls which is 100% of them prefer doing it in their leisure time. While skateboarding or rollerblading is the least activity children participate in, which just 30 to 40 percent of Australian children are interested in doing in their leisure time.
