Overall, it is clear that while the yearly spending on mobile phones increased significantly, the opposite was true for national landline phone expenditure.Meanwhile, the amount spent on international landline services remained consistently lower throughout the period.
In 2001, people spent on national landline services highest at $700 much more than international fixed-line and mobile phone services with $200 and around $250 respectively. Then, there was an opposite change with the decrease in national fixed-line service and the increase in cell phone services. In 2006, these two services had the same spending at $500, and international fixed-line service witnessed a slight rise to $300.
