The flow chart illustrates the way of producing sugar from sugar cane. Overall, there are seven main stages that constitute the process, beginning with the sugar canes being grown and culminating with the sugar being dried and cooled.
To begin with, the sugar canes are being grown for 12-18 months, followed by the harvesting of these sugars. In this step, they are harvested using two different methods consisting of using machines or farmers doing it manually. The following phase of the process is that sugar canes are crushed into juice by the crusher.
In the fourth step, the crushed juice is purified through a limestone filter to remove impurities. After being heated in an evaporator to become syrup, the centrifuge is utilized to separate sugar crystals from syrup. In the last phase, the sugar is dried and cooled to complete the product and prepare it for sale on the market.
