While it is true that buying something online is more convenient and one can buy virtually anything from the comfort of their own home, it should be noted that online shopping has its own risks and there are dubious websites that can deceit the buyer into buying one thing and then send them something else and if one is not careful they can be tricked and scammed. Moreover, there are people who prefer to physically touch the goods they are about to buy, a feeling online shopping can never provide. Take buying a car for instance, for a lot of people it is important to just sit in the car to see if everything is to their liking. Overall, we can say without a shadow of a doubt that online shops have their own shortcomings.
On the other hand, buying something from traditional brick-and-mortar stores takes too much time, time that can be put to better use. Oftentimes, going to a store and buying some items can take up so much time. In addition to that, in online stores, you can see different sellers at different price points resulting in you always getting the best offer, a luxury that traditional forms of shopping do not provide. For example, when looking for a phone, there are limited-time offers that some stores have that one can take advantage of.
To conclude, in my view, it is for a good reason that online shopping has gained this much popularity and it will continue to do so because of the convenience and ease of use it offers. However, they will not completely replace the traditional shops but rather co-exist alongside them.
