The provided bar chart illustrates the percentage of employment status of students who graduated from Physics and Art in the United Kingdom in 2007.
Overall, the proportion of graduating students choosing full-time employment was highest. In addition, the shares for Physics students were higher than those for Art counterparts in all categories.
Looking first at Physics students, the largest segment for them was full-time employment, with 35% entering the workplace. Further study and training were the second most common destinations, at 20%, followed by unemployment at 15%. By contrast, a combination of working and studying and other destinations accounted for small percentages at around 7% and roughly 12%, respectively.
In terms of Art graduates, employment was also the most popular choice, with 25%, which was five times as high as that of the least common position, working and studying, at 5%. Similarly, further study was the second most frequent outcome, at 15%. Around 12% of students chose the ‘other’ category, in comparison with approximately 10% of unemployed graduates.
