Band 5+: The plans below show a harbour in 2000 and how it looks today.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The map illustrates the improvement of the Porth Harbour from 2000 until today.

Overall, it is clear that, the commercial and recreational areas have seen considerable changes. As a number of places were demolished, new ones were constructed or expanded.

Several areas are still the same with no change today as in 2000 such as Public beach, Car parks and Showers and Toilets which are located in the north and the west of the map. However, additional showers and toilets have been constructed between car parking areas in the south west of the map. Furthermore, the location of Fishing boats and Marina private yachts have switched locations. Moreover, another noticeable change is the number of docks in the north east of the map have been doubled for more passenger’s ferries. It is also worth nothing that, the disused Castle which was located in east west of the map, has been converted to the Hotel with private beach instead of public beach.
