The two maps illustrate the architectural plan of a library 20 years before and today.
Overall, the setting had significant transformations concerning both the layout of the rooms and also the equipements and fourniture.
The old floor plan of the library consists of 4 main section rooms and a central hall. The rooms are as follows: to the right of the enterence, there is an enquiry desk where visitors can return books, purchase tickets…etc. Across the enquiry desk in the west side of the floor, there’s a reading room full of newspapers and magazines. On the other side of the building, two other rooms can be found. The right one has children’s book. Whereas the left one is more for CDs, videos and computer games. The four rooms have an enternece to the central hall, which is equiped with tables and chairs in the center. the western side of the hall is for adults fiction books, on the other hand, the eastern side is for adult non-fiction books.
Presently, The library has shifted structure radically. The enquiry desk is now a modern cafeteria. The old reading room has been transformed to a computer room. The children’s room has been shifted to a lecture room. And finally, the computer games section is now dedicated to story-telling events and contains two sofas with a small section for children’s fiction books. Moreover, the hall nowadays doesn’t have tables or chairs. Instead, self-service machines, and information desk can be found. The adult fiction section can still be found but it’s on the opposite side of where it was, across all reference books.
