In 2018, the number of visitors in Dublin was about 7 million, but this number decreased to 6 million in the next two years. From here, these figures decreased to 4 million in 2024, and it is anticipated that this downward movement will continue until 2028, accounting for 2 million. However, in 2030, it is predicted that figures will experience a significant jump back to 6 million and after some fluctuations, the total number of visitors is going to be below 2 million by 2040.
The number of visitors to Cardiff in 2018 was about 2 million, but it gradually rose to above the initial number in 2024. It is projected that this number is going to stay the same until 2026, and it will experience a moderate decrease to below 2 million by 2032. Nevertheless, in 2034, the number of tourists is going to have a dramatic climb to around 4 million and it will continue to grow to 8 million toward the end of the period.
