The first graph provides a good insight on the electrcitiy generation in US , during the period of 2009 to 2019. It gives a good comparison based on a variety of sources used for generating power, such as , Petroleum, Renewables, Nuclear, Natural Gas and Coal. From the first graph, it is evident that the usage of petroleum as a source for producing electricity has been minimal.Interestingly, the usage of petroleum for power generation, has decreased during this period, while the usage of other sources have increased , in the aforesaid duration. The graph also depicts that Natural Gas and Coal have greatly been utilised as source of electricity production. In fact, there has been quite a surge in the usage of Coal and Natual Gas, during this time period. The bar graph points out that there has only been a very slight increase in the use of Nuclear source , for producing electricity. The second graph shows a subset of information, featuring the use of various source of renewables , in electricity production. The graph has taken Solar, Wind ,Geothermal, Plant/Animal Matter, hydroelectric sources into consideration. There has been a tremendous increase in the
use of wind and solar energy, for generating electricity in this specific duration. One surprising factor is that the utilization of hydroelectric energy , has remained the same for a period of 2 decades. Geothermal and Plant/Animal Matter energy have also contributed substantially , in electricity production. But, there has not been
much increase in the usage of these resources, in this particular period.
