The given chart illustrates information about rail transport in four countries based on three main factors; the number of people using rail transport ( excluding metro), passenger kilometers per head of population, and the amount of cargo carried. There are four countries in the data: Malaysia, Canada, China, and the UAE.
Overall, it is clear that China had the highest figures for the number of people who used rail and passenger kilometers per head of population, however at the same time, it had the smallest amount of carried cargo. In addition, Canada showed the lowest number of people using rail transport and passenger kilometers per head of population. In contrast, Canada had the highest rate in the carried cargo category.
In China, 27 million people used rail transport, while the passenger km per head of population accounted for 1980, and 23.01 billion tons cargo carried. Furthermore, Malaysia contributed the second highest number of people using in rail transport, at 5.9 million. Malaysia transported 22.2 billion tons of cargo and had 770 passenger kilometres.
The UAE had fewer than 0.4 million people using rail, compared to the number in Malaysia (5.5 million); however, it had more 10 km in passenger kilometres per head (780 km), and carried 21.9 billion tons of cargo. Lastly, Canada had the smallest rates in both categories: 0.3 million people used rail transportation, and it had the shortest rail route, at 80 km. However, in the carried cargo category, Canada dominated other countries, accounting for 28.20 billion tons.
