The chart illustrates the regular family spending weekly in European country in between 1987 to 2007. Overall, it is clear that the expenditure on fuel and power took the most part in 1987. The spending on housing dominaced the catagories in 10 years later. Standing at the lowest point in 10 years is the expenditure on tobacco.
In 1987, the percentage of money willing to spend on fuel and power was 18% and followed by other goods and services which accounted for 16%. In the same year, the amount of money spent on housing was 15%. Transport and food having nearly similiar porportion with 11% and 10% respectively. In the last place was tobacco with only 7%.
After 10 years, the chart experienced significant changed. Housing was increased significantly comparing to the past and followed closely by tranport with 31%. The figure that remaining similar was other goods and services. Fuel and power displayed a slight decreased to 15%.. Interestingly, both tobacco and food experienced a 5% decrease in expenditure.
