The diagram illustrates how an industrial site will be redeveloped in the future.
Overall, the industrial site will undergo significant changes, with the main transformations being the removal of some particular areas to make space for more accommodation. These changes aim at meeting the demand of the growing population.
Currently, in the external area of the industrial site, there are four main roads located on the North, South, East, West side, named Chimney Road, Swallow Street, Toe Lane and Pie Walk, respectively, which are expected to remain unchanged in the development plan. In terms of the interior, an entrance and reception located at the upper middle of the layout, will be replaced by 3 houses with 2 bedrooms. Additionally, new communal gardens will also be added in front of the row of houses in order to increase the living experience. In the current design, there is a yard positioned in front of the entrance, which will be transformed into a private road. Moreover, in the bottom side of the map, there are a row of offices with a canteen, which will be converted into new parking garages.
Regarding the left side of the present layout, there is a parking and a storage area. While the parking place will be relocated into the top-right corner of the industry to make place for a 3 bedroom house, the storage area will be replaced by a 4 bedroom house. In the current design, there is a factory located at the bottom-right corner of the industrial site, which will be removed to make space for an apartment. Furthermore, two new private roads will also be constructed: one between the 3 bedroom house and 2 bedroom house, and another between the parking place and 2 bedroom house.
