Overall, the population living in cities rose tremendously, and the percentage of population living in cities in four Asian witnessed a dramatic Surge with Malaysia being expected to see the greatest growth.

In 1970, the percent of living in cities in Malaysia and Philippines held range from about 30 to 32. whereas Thai land and indonesia held from 15 to 19 proportion. From 1990 to 2010, the percent of living in cities in Philippines dropped from 50 percentage to 40 percentage. While propotion of living in cities in Indonesia and Malaysia rose steadly then Thai land icreased a little or fluctuated and remain steady.

However, after 2020, it was witnessed that the figures of proportion of living in cities in four Asian countries increased steadily. Especially, people predicted that Malaysia had at peaked of 80 percent living in cities in 2040.
