Overall, it can be seen that the rate of urban population over the whole period, year by year. Additionally, the urban population in Latin America was the highest from 1950 to 2000, and was predicted to increase further by 2030.
In 1950, the rate of urbna population in Africa was the lowest among all regions at approximately 12%. Nearly 15% of the population in Asia living in towns and cities while Latin America had over 40% of citizens, which was the highest rate of urban population. The overall of urban population all over the world accounted for about 30%.
According to the table, the percentage of urban population was equal to that of Asia at nearly 40% in 2000. The figure for Latin America ascended moderately to 70% while the whole world had nearly 50%.
As of 2030, the figure for the percentage of the population of towns and cities in Latin America increased 10% and took the head, holding 80%. It was followed by the whole world, Asia and Africa with 60%, approximately 56% and over 50%, respectively.
