It is widely argued that technology has an influence on relationships. I personally agree that technology has improved many personal relationships for several reasons. Firstly, technology can provide easier communication, and secondly, it allows long-distance relationships to flourish.
First and foremost, it is no doubt that technology has made communicating way easier for most people. Most modern devices nowadays are made for people to chat to others from the comfort of their hands. Whether it is at home, school, or the office, people are able to have access to the internet where they can connect with the people. For instance, In the past, in order to communicate people would have to write letters, then put them through the mail, which could take weeks or months for delivery, until it arrived at the it’s destination. However, in contemporary society, If you have a smartphone, then you can message to others in just seconds, without the long wait.
Moreover, technological devices allow communication in long-distance relationships. No matter where you are in the world, you will have the chance to converse with your companion, if you have access to the internet. In other words, if you are a couple in a long-distance relationship, then there is no need to worry about not being able to talk to your significant other because there are invention that allow for you to do that now. This means that they can talk to one another at anytime of the day with just the tap of their devices, whether it is a call or a simple text.
In conclusion, I strongly agree with the statement. Technology certainly has a positive impact on relationships as it provides the ability to communicate, and for those who are in long-distance relationships to keep in touch effectively as well, which means that it would strengthen, rather than destroy, relationships.
