Overall, it is clearly seen that the number of students who studied in the UK declined sharply by the end of the period in question, while the proportion for the USA and Australia rose negligibly, remaining the same.
Australian students that choose studying abroad accounted for roughly 50,000 at the beginning of the period, whose quantity doubled at the end of 2007. Similarly, the number of students from the USA, that went abroad to get a degree, remained stable comprising 50,000 throughout the period given.

On the other hand, the proportion of British people that studied in other countries had a gradual downward trend, declining for about 10,000 from 30,000 in the first year.
