It has been observed that in many countries students are separated into large classes in schools. Although some people believe that pupils learn much better in small groups, others think that class size does not really matter. I partially agree with this idea. My view is explained in the following paragraphs with simple points and examples.
The main reason to support my opinion is that small classes give more individual attention. When there are fewer students, the teacher can check everyone’s progress and explain the lesson more clearly. For example, weak learners get more chances to ask questions. Besides this, it is also true that students in small classes can use more resources, such as books or computers, because they do not need to share with many classmates. This helps them understand the subject better.
On the other hand, some people argue that class size is not the main factor in learning. The strongest point they make is that the quality of teaching is more important. A skilled and experienced teacher can manage a large class and still provide good lessons. In addition, school facilities also play a major role. Many big schools with modern equipment, libraries, and technology achieve excellent results even with large classes.
To conclude the discussion, it can be said that despite the fact of teaching quality and school resources , my reasons that small classes offer more individual attention and better access to materials are also acceptable. Therefore, I partially agree that learning is easier in a small class, but other factors are equally important.
