In recent years, a small number of learners at school and college level are preferring computer-based courses more than any other science courses. This is due to attractive salary of IT industry and it should not be seen as a positive trend because it reduces their job opportunities.
One of the main reason for shifting is computer related subjects are more practical and visual than any other science courses such as computer programming, AI, machine learning and technology makes it more interesting to study in. Another major reason why they choose computer courses is that many IT industry offering a huge amount of salary for their employees. It encourage pupils to choose computer related subject over any other science subject. For instance, Google, Microsoft, Intel provides a big amount of salary and a better quality of life for their employee.
In my opinion, this trends of studying only computer science may reduce students overall job security due to the alerming expansion of artificial intelligence. On the other hand, this trend being a challenge for any other industries to recruit enough experts in the crucial sectors like medical, automobile, transportation ,etc. For example, many IT experts of prominent industry lost their job after invention of AI.
In conclusion, even if student prefering computer related courses more than other science course because of attractive digits of salary but it may alarming rather than in future for their job security as well as the whole nation.
