The pie charts compare the distribution of the world’s water while the bar chart illustrates the usage of water in three nations.
In general, it is clear from the chart that most of the world’s water is salt water while fresh water only accounts for a small proportion and mainly exists in the form of ice and glaciers. Additionally, the large amounts of water in Egypt and Saudi Arabia are used primarily for agriculture, whereas this is true for industry in Canada.
As can be seen from the pie chart, salt water accounts for 97% of the world’s total water whilst fresh water accounts for only 3%. In addition, 79% of fresh water distributed in ice and glaciers is four times more than ground water, at 20% and only 1% for surface water.
Regarding water consumption, Egypt and Saudi Arabia utilize 80% of water for agriculture, eight times higher than that of Canada. By contrast, the proportion of water use in industry in Canada is 80% while under 20% that of Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, the percentage of water for domestic use in all 3 countries has the same data at 10%.
