The bar chart illustrates the proportion of the total world population in the year of 1980 and 2002, and projections for 2030 of four different regions, namely India, China, the United States and Japan.

Generally speaking, China, USA and japan had a moderate decline trend in the percentage of the world population in 1950 to 2050. As can be seen from the bar chart, the population rate in China hit the peak in 1950 with 75%, then dropped to 15% in 2050. Meanwhile, Japan decreased from 4% in 1950, which reached the bottom.

Speaking about the US, the proportion declined from 7% to 5% in 1950 to 2002, then remained the same in 2050.

In contrast, India had a modest rise trend. The percentage edged up from 15% to 19% in 1950 to 2050.
