The illustration gives the information about the literacy rate throughout the globe on the basis of region and the gender by year 2000. Overall, females among different countries were more illitrate than males. The highest number of South Asian females were illitrate while least number of males were illitrate in first world countries.
It is quite evident from the bar chart that in terms of literacy rate in developed nations were significantly far ahead regardless of gender as compared to the South Asian countries where females were more illitrate than males. The percentage of illitracy in male among developed countries were about 2% while in male population were about 1%. On the other hand, in South Asian nations, the condition of female literacy rate was worse, about 56% females were illitrate while among male the situation compareably better which recorded illitracy rate of 33%.
Meanwhile, the illitracy rate in females among other nations like in Arabs countries and Sub Saharan countries of Africa were also bad. In Arab countries, about 52% females were illitrate while this number in males were about 29%. Similarly, about 49% Sub Saharan females were illitrate and this number in males were surprisingly low which were about just 30%.
