The total income and the financial state of the country are the prime concern for most politicians and even the citizens. In fact, all politicians, in their election campaigns, promise their voters to increase the financial stability and the individuals’ income. As a result , people are arguing if economic progress is the most significant goal, or if there are other targets that the government should pursue such as a an excellent infrastructure or a great healthcare system. But I strongly believe that economic growth should be the most fundamental goal of the government.
Most of the people who suppose that the economy should be the prime interest of the government are doing so because they believe that when individuals are financially stable, they will be more mentally and physically stable, too, since they are not anxious about providing medicine for their families or how to purchase basic needs like groceries or clothing . Consequently, they can be more productive and passionate in their careers, which leads to more success in other fields or industries. For example, when comparing two generations where the older ones was suffering to provide the basic needs in order to life like food and water, with our generation that are granted these needs, it transpires that the younger one are more creative and willing to work harder since there are more mentally able.
On the other hand, some citizens believe that money alone cannot improve the quality of life. The reason for this is that when workers just concerned with increasing their pay rather than enhancing the quality of their labor, it will lead to negative outcomes. For instance, in private hospitals, some doctors are seeing too many patients in a short time so they can make more money. Consequently, each patient will have a lower chance to talk about their illness, which will result in a wrong diagnosis and, in the end, a terrible health system in general.
In conclusion, I totally agree that the government’s main concern is to ensure the economy’s stability for the public, as that can make employees more productive. Also, there are some others who assume that doing so will not ensure that people will be more productive because quality is more important than quantity.
