Australia also attracted a considerable number, at about 700000, which was higher than the figure for korea, recorded at around 600000.
By contrast, Sri Lanka and Pakistan were less popular. Sri Lanka received approximately 450000 visitors, whereas Pakistan had the lowest number, with only about 250000 holidaymakers travelling there. Notably, the number of tourists visiting Malaysia was around four times higher than those choosing Pakistan.
Overall, the data indicates a clear preference for Malaysia, India, and Japan as holiday destinations in 2012, while Pakistan and Sri Lanka were comparatively less favored.
