It is commonly believed by companies that it is more beneficial to test their new products on animals, rather than making untested goods available for the public, as they might be harmful for humankind. I firmly disagree with this statement, I believe that animal testing has lots of unavoidable downsides.
To begin with, it is understandable why many people are convinced that using animals for the mentioned purpose is a great method, as it is considered to save billions of human’s lives. However, what they do not take into consideration is that while rescuing our lives, billions of animals are damaged in very brutal ways. Testing cosmetic products on animals could be a great example for this. Additionally, this not only harms animals, but also holds a negative impact on the humanity, using animals in these experiments can lead to reduction in the number of these species, which play an important role on the environment.
Furthermore, I consider that it is not fully accurate to say that human beings and animals give the same reactions to particular chemicals.Therefore, testing products on them can result in disappointing consequences. At the same time, if we consider that in our contemporary world how artificial intelligence is used for various purposes, I truly think that it would be useful for this field too.
In conclusion, I am opposed to the belief that animal testing is necessary to protect people’s health. It causes significant harm to animals, negatively affects the environment and is as reliable as expected.
