The pie charts illustrate the various types of transportation for students of the university and who worked from 2004 to 2009 in the UK. Overall, cars decreased significant usage popularity over 5 years, while usage of bicycles, buses, trains, and walking rapidly increased.
In 2004, the highest proportion was car, accounting for 51%. The bus came second, with a percentage of 33%. The bicycle was lower by nearly 9%, although only small numbers of people travelled by walking and trains respectively 4% and 3%.
In 2009, the usage of buses greatly increased and became the most popular travelling method, approximately 46%. The use of bicycles also rose to 16%. By contrast, car usage sharply dropped to 28%. Additionally, walking minimally climbed to 6%, also train slightly grew to 4%
