The line graph presents data about the United Kingdom’s acid rain emissions from four industries such as transport and communication; electricity, gas and water supply; domestic and others during the period between 1990 and 2007. Units are measured in millions of tonnes.
Overall, it is evident that emissions from all sectors declined throughout the period, while the most drastic change was recorded in electricity, gas and water supply. On the other hand, transport and communication did not present a change through the given period.
Initially, electricity, gas and water supply produced just below 3.5 million tones of acid emissions. However, after declining sharply for 8 years, by 1999 the industry obtained 1, which was more than 300% fall. Furthermore, after a minor fluctuation figures reached a minimum at around 0.5 in 2017. Domestic and other industries introduced nearly similar trends. Likewise, their numbers commenced at above 2 and 0.5 in 1991, respectively, yet after falling by half remained at roughly 1.2 and 0.25 by 2007.
With regards to transport and communication, their figures started at approximately 0.7, and after a quite uncertain trajectory first rose to 1 after 2003 and then went down to nearly the same level as in 1991.
