Looking first at the percentages in 1987, the largest proportion of students at around 35% selected the university because of suitable degree programmers. This was followed by quality of resources at 21%, while good sports and social activities represented 19%. Finally, the smallest proportion by quality teaching and close to parental home attracted only 15% and 10% of students, respectively.
In 2007, suitable degree courses remained dominant, rising slightly to 37%. Meanwhile, the proportion of students citing close to parental home and quality teaching increased to 22% and 18%. Conversely, good sports and social activities and quality of resources experienced a noticeable decline, dropping to 6% and 17%.
