The pie charts compare the proportions of five major types of electricity production of France in 1995 and 2005, with measured in percentages.
Overall, it is clear that the largest proprotions of power generation made up three kinds of energy, namely gas, coal, and petrol over the given period. Despite the significant increase, the figures for nuclear and other sources still represented the lowest percentages in terms of energy supply.
In 1995, the greatest proportions of energy production were coal, gas, and petroleum, which were accounted for around 90% of overall production. Over the following years, however, the metrics for both coal and gas increased slightly, the figure for petrol declined gradually by about 10%. By 2005, the percentages for both coal and gas had maintained their position as the highest among energy sources, representing 30.93% and 30.31%, respectively
On the other hand, in both years, nuclear power and other sources accounted for the smallest proportions of power generation, despite experiencing considerable growth. Nuclear power made up 6.40 of the total electricity figures, whereas the levels for other resources represented 4.90. Then, these figures were nearly doubled in 2005, which were 10.10 and 9.10, respectively.
