The chart compares the number of trips made by men and women for five different purposes in a European country in 2007.
Overall, men travelled more than women for work and sport activities , while women made more trips for visiting friends and shopping. Day trips were the least common purpose for both genders.
In terms of travelling work, men recorded the highest figure at about 330 trips. This was much higher than the number of women, approximately 220 . Similarly,men’s journeys of sports and entertainment were more common than women’s journeys. Around 150 the figure of men traveller while only 130 the figure of women traveller.
By contrast, women travelled more frequently for shopping, with roughly 280 trips while men made only 200 trips. Women also made slightly more trips for visiting friends, rising around 210 %, compared to about 180 trips for men. Finally, day trips were the smallest purpose for both genders, with fewer than 50 journeys for two groups.
