In a continous search for space across the globe, organizing a new town might be taken up as an arduos task, and it is in fact that, as the people that are in charge of developing a new town are under massive stress when it comes to many areas such as easy access anywhere, work-life balance and much further.
Firstly, the depicted image shows a sketch of a rather small town with an emphasis on housing which spans only two industrial zones. The ring road allows for easy access to virtually any road and also any house, thus making it a practical choice in terms of traffic, either by foot or by car, for every citizien of this town. One matter that stands out at first sight, is the lack of parking space, at only just two, the town seems better suited for people who either do not own a drivers’ licence or car, or they like to walk towards their destination, although, parking spaces might be created under the housing sections.
On a second note, regarding the industrial zones in context to the recreational zones, the northern most industrial zone, lacks practically any recreational area. For example, if a citizen, who lives in the southern part of the town, and is working in the northern industrial zone, when he gets on his break, he has to cross half the town to reach the closest recreational area, thus making it quite a burden regarding the psychological aspect of this citizen. One improvement that could be made is the addition of one or two more recreational areas in the northern part of the town.
In conclusion, the newly proposed town is a great choice for people who have a more practical lifestyle, given the easy access of this town to any part of it, however minor adjustments could be done to it, as it was stated in terms of the recreational areas.
