The illustrated maps compare how the layout changed over a forty-year from 1970 to 2010.
There were several changes, the most noticeable being that the south-west and north-east sides were redeveloped, whereas the north-west and south-east parts of Brighton remained unchanged from 1970 to 2010.
In the south-west part of Brighton college there were the Hall of Medicine and a dormitory in 1970. By 2010, the Hall of Medicine was replaced by a coffee shop, and the dormitory was transformed into the Granger school of Business. The University centre located to the north-east of the college was reduced in size over the following forty years, while the dormitory was relocated to this area.
Looking at the details, no significant changes were made and all buildings stayed in their original locations. The Delapora library in the north-west and the Science hall located to the south-east of Brighton remained unchanged by 2010.
