The maps illustrate the changes in the layout of Brighton College in 1970 and in 2010.
Overall, the university has undergone several changes over the years. Some areas were reduced in size, while others were moved to other locations. Some buildings were demolished, freeing up space for new services, such as the coffee shop and the Granger School of Business. Lastly, some elements remained the same throughout the period.
The former university centre located in the eastside of the campus was reduced by half of its original size. By contrast, the new dormitory area next to the university centre was slightly expanded compared to its size in 1970.
Furthermore, the previous dormitory and the Hall of Medicine were shut down. Instead, a coffee shop and the Granger School of Business were built in the area. Finally, some buildings remained unchanged, such as the Delapore Library in the upper-left corner of the map and the science hall in the bottom-right border.
