Nowadays, there are many dangerous sports such as skydiving, Formula 1 racing, rock climbing, as well as caving. However, danger does not stop individuals from taking part in and enjoying these sports. I tend to think that participants should follow clear regulations to ensure their safety.
To begin with, new sports are emerging every year, and most of them involve significant risks. This is largely because people want to gain attention on social media and impress others with unusual or exciting activities. Even though technology brings many benefits for community, many people use social media platforms to show off and make others jealous. For example, when people see their friends rock climbing on a large mountain, they may want to climb an even higher one in order to impress others.
I believe there should be strict rules to minimise the risks involved in such sports. Firstly, participants should take courses related to their sport and learn how to use specialised equipment properly. For example, when rock climbing, participants must learn how to use ropes, harnesses, and carabiners correctly; otherwise, even a small mistake can lead to serious accidents. In terms of motor racing, roads that are extremely dangerous and have seen many fatal accidents should either be prohibited for general participants or only allowed for those with extensive experience.
To sum up, although sports are highly beneficial for physical health, mental well-being, and social interaction, certain extreme or dangerous activities involve serious risks. Therefore, while people should be encouraged to take part in sports, it is essential that they receive proper training, use equipment correctly, and follow strict safety regulations to minimise potential accidents.
