Overall, younger students tend to pursue education for their career. As they age, the percentage drops steadily, completely opposite with those who study for their personal interest and enjoyment. The satisfaction rate is significantly higher for youth and follows a parabola shape with the lowest point being the segment of students in their 30s.
According to what is show, more than 80% of individuals under the age of 26 puts their career before their passions being the most satisfied segment with around 65%. For the next 2 segments, this reason drops by 10% in the favor of the reason ‘passion’, their satisfaction rate follow the same declining pattern with the age 30-39 having the lowest rate at 30%.
When it comes to the age 40-49 the two reasons are equal at 40% and the percentage of satisfaction witnesses a slight rise around 35%. Lastly, 70% of students over 49 follow studies for their interest compared to the other reason which is just under the 20%, 45% of that segment are satisfied.
