From my point of view, governments should provide funding for the arts, but not for all. We should provide funding only for someone famous, and somebody who can present our country. Art is one of the methods for showing your contry. Everybody knows Italian artists. There are a lot of different artists, that have different styles, and ways for describing their ideas. It’s like poems, because I think these two types of art are very similar. I’m from Ukraine, and the most popular type of art in my country is poetry. Our poets are writing about a beauty of Ukraine, about hard times. Looking to our poentry, everybody can understand our mentality.
However, I can understand alternative point of view, because nowadays we have a bigger problems than arts. Therefore, we should forget about art, shouldn’t we? I don’t think so.There are many people who think like that because of economy problems, wars, ecology issues, etc. They’re thinking that we should concentrate on a real world problems.
On the other hand, there are people who think that we should focus on art, and they forget about another problems.
In summary, I would say, we should funding arts, and improve different types of art, because it’s part of culture, so we’re presenting our contry using art. Yes, we should sponsor artists, but in moderation.
