It is a common belief that funding public arts such as museums, sculptures and street art should be done by governments. However, others believe that it should be financed from other sources. I will discuss both sides and give my own opinion.
On the one hand, many people say that public art should be financed by governments because museums and street art are things that all citizens can enjoy for free. For example, as public art is invested from companies, they highly likely to make a profit from museums or art galleries. Therefore, there will be high prices for entrance, this situation can lead people to lose interest in art.
On the other hand, some people argue that funding public arts is money wasted. This is because when governments utilize too much money from taxpayers to fund museums or street art, there is a high possibility of getting criticized from citizens. For example, people who are not interested in art, they probably could feel as investing in art as wasting taxes. To address this problem, museums or art galleries can be invested money by using advertisements on television or social media. As a result, financing from other sources is the best way to solve this problem and not get criticized from citizens.
In conclusion, it is true that funding public art from citizens’ taxes is more beneficial for most people, but some people will complain about it due to they are not interested in art. I strongly believe that governments should be paid public art for sustainable interest in art.
