The map illustrates how the town of Harborne changed from 1936 to 2007.
Overall, the town underwent a number of dramatic changes, the most notable of which is the development of the large residential area.
In the North-West, most of the trees were cut down, and in the south-west a cycle path was converted into a bend road. In the centre of the map, the post office, the library and the bank remained unchanged, while in the northern section, the candy shop and the butchers were turned into a supermarket. There used to be a flower shop in the southern part, but it was then redeveloped into a travel agent.
In the North-East, a river was filled in and redeveloped into the residential area. In the South-east of the map also saw a number of changes, with the government offices being turned into a museum, and the farm land being converted to a golf course surfed for the recreational demand of the citizens.
