Overall, it is clear that adults aged 18-64 experienced the highest number of library members in 2016. Children’s fiction and adult fiction were the other most popular borrowed categories that year, while the total number of library loans significantly increased from 2007 to 2016.
In terms of the pie chart, in 2016, around 51% of the library members were adults aged 18-64. In contrast, children, young adults 13-17, and adults 65 and over accounted for around 22%, 15%, and 12% of the library members, respectively.
According to the table, in that same year, children’s fiction and adult fiction were the most popular sections, with around 38% of loans taken from each, respectively, whereas adult non-fiction accounted for 13% of loans, compared to no more than 6% for each of the other four categories, such as children’s non-fiction, young adults, children’s DVDs, and adult audio books.
There were a total number of 16,000 loans taken in 2007. This trend increased significantly from 2007 to 2016, from about 16,000 to 21,000, but there were slight downward trends in 2009 and 2013.
