It is often argued that schools should mainly focus on academic subjects because they are more useful for students future careers. However, some people think that sports and physical education are just as important as academic studies. In my opinion, both should be given equal attention in schools.
On the one hand, academic subjects help students gain knowledge and prepare for professional jobs. Subjects such as mathematics and science are necessary in many careers like engineering, medicine, and technology. Without strong academic skills, students may struggle to find a well-paid job in the future. Moreover, many parents wants their children to succeed academically because education is considered the key to a better life.
On the other hand, physical education is also very important for students overall development. Nowadays, many young people spend too much time using computers and mobile phones, which can lead to health problems. Doing sports can improve students fitness and teach them teamwork and discipline. For instance, students who play football or basketball often learn how to cooperate with others. In addition, exercise can help students relax and reduce stress from studies.
In conclusion, although academic subjects are essential for career success, physical education should not be neglected because it improves health and social skills. I think schools should balance both academic learning and sports activities for a better education system.
