Band 6+: Color is a powerful tool that is used to great effect by manufacturers and retail companies when they try to sell us something. In fact, many of the purchasing decisions we make are partly or largely influenced by color. How true is this statement? How much does color influence us when we buy something?

Producers and many brands have been utilizing color as an overpowered tool which played a crucial role when attempting to sell something to us. As a matter of fact, large amount of people rely on the color when purchasing a product.

I buy and have bought things in different colors nevertheless, I mostly buy things that have simple colors such as white, black, dark blue and dark green. The importance of colors when I purchase something is really pivotal. The reason is that, I am kind of perfectionist and do not want to ruin the vibe so, most of the times I get matching colors.

Also, colors are very pivotal in different places such as hospitals, offices, kindergardens and schools. These places’ colors differ from each other. While hospitals utilize white and that kind of simple colors, kindergardens mostly use rainbow because it decreases children’s cortisol levels and it will be easy for them to memorise the colors. Then, the white color in hospitals help staff and patients to concentrate more and to stay calmer.

When we go shopping for clothes, the first thing we look for is its appearance, the design as well as the color. For instance, we wouldn’t choose a green shirt over the white ones for school. Even though, the appearance may be suitable but if its price or quality is not as expected then most people will refuse to purchase it.
