Overall, cocoa bean and coffee sales almost doubled in all five countries. While Britain had the highest sales of cocoa beans and coffee in both 2000 and 2005, Switzerland had the lowest sales of both goods.
In the year 2000, the highest sales were in the United Kingdom, at 13.6 million euros. This rose to 27.3 million in 2005, which was more than double the sales in 2000. Furthermore, Germany had a revenue of 2.6 million euros in 2000 and 5.2 million in 2005. France and the Netherlands started from 4.6 million and 2.4 million respectively. These figures increased to 9.3 million and 4.8 million respectively. Besides, Switzerland sold 0.9 million euros of cocoa in 2000, which rose to 1.8 million in 2005.
On the other hand, Germany’s coffee sales in 2000 were 24.5 million euros, which approximately doubled to 49.1 million. As for England, sales were 68.3 million in 2000 and 137 million in 2005. Moreover, France and the Netherlands had 32.6 million and 15.2 million respectively in the year 2000, which jumped to 65.2 million and 30.3 million respectively. Switzerland initially had 7.5 million, but that went up to 14.9 million.
