Overall, it can clearly seen that, desktop computers were owned by 55 percent in 2005 whereas in 2020, laptops accounted for 75 percent of ownership.
Looking at the details, in 2005, desktop computers were the most commonly owned at a higher percentage of 55%. However, laptops were the second most owned gadget at 20 percent. Smartphone ownership was 15 percent. In addition, tablets and smart TVs were the least owned gadgets at 2 percent and 5 percent respectively.
On the other hand, in 2020, smartphone ownership increased to 75 percent, whereas laptops were the second most owned at 65 percent. Tablets and smart TVs also increased in percentage to 45 percent. However, desktop computers were the least owned devices at 10 percent.
