Remote working is now rapidly adopted into many companies and organizations. This has led to relocation of various people from metropolitan areas to rural settlements. This essay will discuss the advantages and disadvantages and also states the reasons why I believe the benefits outweigh the disadvantages.
Firstly, people moving out of the cities to rural areas has reduced overcrowding and all forms of negative impacts it has been making on the environment. Research has shown that, major urban areas and cities has experienced overcrowded over the years. This is because people are largely mobilizing from rural areas to big towns constantly. As a result of this, the rate of traffic congestion and pollution are higher recorded in the city. This has caused damage to the climate and environment since decades. However, movement of citizens from urban centers to rural areas has led to significant reduction in population, thereby leading to a decrease not only in traffic congestion but also in the pollution and climate damage associated with it.
Furthermore, relocation of more people to rural area will create an avenue for development of villages and small towns. Rural settlements are known to have limited amenities and developmental project. This is because the numbers of individual residing there are relatively small. In contrast, the relocation of more citizens back to these small towns will increase the population and also enlarge these settlements. As a result of this, there will be a need for governments and organizations to invest and build sufficient infrastructures, reconstruct roads and provide amenities to complement the growing number of people in local communities. This on the other hand will create job opportunities, easy access to infrastructures such as; schools and hospitals, and urbanization of rural settlements.
Although some argue that relocation of individuals from the city might reduce the internal revenue governments are generating from cities. Also, some believe that this might affect business owners and entrepreneurs located in big towns. However, i believe that this can be managed by employing effective tactics and strategies.
In conclusion, the rise in the movement of individuals from cities to rural areas has led to various forms of debate among individuals. Some debate that this comes with a lot of benefits, while others argue that it’s disadvantages outweigh the advantages. I strongly believe that this has more advantages than disadvantages.
