Dear Alex,

I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to write and thank you for inviting me to your housewarming party last weekend. I had a wonderful time! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and it was great to catch up with everyone. I especially enjoyed the food. The barbecue and homemade desserts were absolutely delicious.

I also want to apologize for forgetting to bring a housewarming gift. I was in such a rush when I left home that it completely slipped my mind. I feel quite embarrassed about it and hope you can forgive me.

To make up for it, I’d love to invite you over to my place sometime next weekend. We can have dinner together, and I’ll finally be able to give you a small gift to celebrate your new home. Let me know which day works best for you.
