There are two main reasons why this issue occurs. The primary reason is that plastic waste increase in tandem with population growth. This is because plastic consumption raise when the population increased. For example, the plastic consumption of the US is the double or maybe the triple of that in Algeria due to the gap between population’s number. Another contributing factor is that landfils suffer from poor management. Consequently, many countries get rid of its plastic waste in random ways which can lead to threatening our global environment.
To address this issue, many practical measures can be taken. The most effective solution is to launch initiatives to encourage individuals use alternative recycled products rather than that are made of plastic. This would contribute to reducing the plastic consumption. Another useful measure is to provide much vast landfils sites which should be far from cities, and ensure to manage them very well. As a result, plastic waste in the environment will decrease.
In conclusion, although this problem is mainly caused by the increase in consumption of plastic goods and the random management of landfils sites, implementing measures such as supporting alternative plastic substances and desposing plastic waste with well-organised ways can significantly reduce the danger. In the long run, this would result in falling the damage of this problem.
