It is true that there are increasing population in old-aged with the decrease number of young generations in recent years. There is a sparked debate about whether it is probable for people to keep working when they are old. From my point of view, I partly agree that people can continue working in their old age.
On the one hand, there are some reasons why having people working in their old age is a good option. Firstly, it can help balance the financial problems of government for paying too much budget for retired people. As there are decreasing number of younger working for paying taxes, it is a huge pressure for government to pay abundant money for old people. For instance, as there will be fewer students in primary school, it is better to let the older and experienced teachers continue working. In addition, the advances of technology may replace human workers in the future, making older people keep working can fill a generation gap to a certain degree.
On the other hand, the believes that having people to keep working in their old age may cause some potential problems. One problem is that some young generation may lose motivation to work due to the mental pressure of working for such a long time. The rapid development of society has caused more younger workers have pressure in their working and individual development. Besides that, if more older people choose to not retire, there will be less decent occupations for young graduates. This will lead to nervous social atmosphere, serious family stress, and even the criminal problems.
In conclusion, it is probable for older people continue to work, but there are still social problems requires to be solved as the advances of technology and society.
