Band 6+: Some people believe that the increasing use of technology, such as smartphones and social media, has a negative impact on society. Others think it has improved our lives.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Some people think that excessive use of technology has a positive influence on society, while others argue that it has more negative effect. Although I agree that there are some benefits of technology development, I believe that the increasing use of digital devises can lead to some problems.

On the one hand, technology enables people work faster and more efficiently. This is because people have an access to a vast amount of information. Internet can provide an instant solution to the problem that occurred in the work, improving workers productivity. For example, the majority of companies in the USA allow workers to use artificial intelligence programs in their job, in order to tackle any problems and move quickly from one task to another. As a result, workers are able to do a lot of work in one day by using technologies which is equivalent to the work that is done without technology in a week.

However, I do not completely agree with this view, because technologies have some negative effects. First, excessive reliance on digital devices can lead to health problems. People tend to have more sedentary life, because all their work is done by using phones, laptops and other type of technologies. Moreover, it can lead to poor eyesight and even blindness due to the increasing use of technology. For instance, nowadays more children face heath issues compared to the past times, and most of these diseases came from usage of technologies since their childhood. This can reduce people’s lifespan in the future.

In conclusion, although technology can provide a range of benefits, such as enhancing people’s productivity at work, I believe that it also has brought several negative impacts, especially on society’s heath.
