The following table compares high income countries, middle income countries, and low income countries according to their population growth, average birth per woman, and life expectancy at birth over a 2 year period, from 2002 to 2004.
Overall, the numbers didn’t witness a huge change through the 2 year period for all the countries. It’s evident that life expectancy at birth in high income countries is greater than middle income countries and low income countries; however, population growth in high income countries is the lowest. In addition, average birth year per woman is the highest in low income countries compared to high income and middle income countries.
During the period between 2002 and 2004, population growth in high income countries decreased from 0.8% to 0.7%. Conversely, in high income countries the average life expectancy at birth increased from 78. to 78.7 while average birth per woman remained stable. Population growth in middle income countries remained still from 2002 till 2004, but average birth per woman decreased from 2.2% to 2.1%. Nevertheless, life expectancy surged during the 2 year period. After 2 years from 2002, average population growth decreased severely from 2.1% to 1.8%, and average birth per woman plummeted at 3.7; however, life expectancy at birth increased from 58.1 to 58.8.
In conclusion, it’s clear that life expectancy at birth is the highest in high income countries, while average birth per woman and population growth is the highest in low income countries.
